10 min # 15

The first thing I want to say is that was a really fun way to question everyone on the readings. I do not think reading a head helped me out this time. I thought when I read Burnett’s proposal I under stood what he was doing, but I was way off. When I read it, I first looked at the framing of his proposal.  Then when I went over it to take some notes for the RR that we had to do. I was trying to look at the ways that he was trying to persuade people. I did not pay a whole lot of attention to who he was trying to persuade. The only thing that was sticking out in my mind was the tax payers.  For some reason I thought when he said we would be thank full he was telling us we should vote to get this changed. The Other category annoying way through me off big time, I could not even remember what it was about. I have it printed of so I know that I read it, so I will look over it again. I thought it was very hard to think about the answers to the other categories at such a quick pass.  When I would try to think of an answer all the different rules would get jumbled up. Sometimes when we would stat talking about the answers as a group I would remember a little. All I can say is way to go Leah!  If you end up looking at this think you and great job.

10 min # 14 boyfriend

Jaden and his girlfriend (Alex) had just gotten into a fight right in front of his mom (Stella) and dad (Beney).  Jaden loved his girlfriend and his parents knew this would break his heart.  His parents thought it was something strange to be fighting over any was. After the yelling stopped they see Alex go out the front door, slamming it as she left. Stella wanted to go and see if Jaden was ok, but his Beney asked her not to, so she didn’t.  It was while Stella was in the kitchen cooking that Jaden came out of his room. Jaden went straight to the bar in front of where his mom was cooking.  He waited for his mom to speak first.  Stella washed and dried her hand and then went over to her son. Jaden what happened are you alright. Jaden could not control his self he started to cry as he began to talk. “Mom, we broke up.”  Stella Knew that this was just one of the things that couples go through and it would all be ok in the end.  Stella looked at her son and said “Jaden, we will go to morrow and I will show you how to fix this, eat your dinner and get some rest.” The next day Jaden was ready to do whatever he had to fix this. He was up way before his mom was and she was surprised.  They got in the car and his mom drove him to the flower shop first. Jaden got two dozen roses and had them put into a beautiful vase. Then his mom took him to the store where she made him get a big teddy bear and a cared. Jaden’s mom made him get one of the cards that you design yourself.  She told him to put on the front Stories of a dumb guy. Then she told him to right in the cared how he felt about her. When there were done Jaden’s mom took him to Alex’s house. She told him she was dropping him off because everything would be ok. If he needed her he just had to call, said I love you and drove away.  Stella never got that call.

RR # 8 Burnett's Esay

Burnett opens up by giving information about his self in third person.  He does this to so that he has some experience when it comes to the issue at hand, basically making him creatable.   Then he goes over exactly what the problem is as well as why is not getting fixed, giving us the background information that is needed.   Then he starts to give evidence to back up what he is saying. He does this by researching how much money was earned and how much money was lost for each program.  He also gives reason for why the growth or decline is happing.  Then he starts to bring together his proposal by saying with this information congress could do a demonstration program. Then he goes over exactly how to implement the plan (how to carry it out).   Then he tells what the outcome should be after the plan. Then he restates how he knows this plane will work.  He ends with saying that we as the taxpayer should be grateful. This is his way of calling us to action. Being grateful for something means we got something out of it, so if we can get lower taxes with this plan why not stand up and fight for it. I thought he did a great job was much shorter than the Hopkins one that I just followed, but that is ok. I ended up with six pages without even counting the works cited page, so I have a lot to take out and rethink. Well at the mark and one more to go YES!

10 min # 13 art

I am not for sure about being inspired by the movie, but it did help me take my mind off things for a while.  That in itself was a much needed thing.  I am stressed out so bad over this paper that it has been giving me headaches. I am afraid that this one is going to bring my grad way down. This is why I liked the movie so well, because while the first one was playing I thought of nothing. I just wanted to see how this guy was going to pull it off. I know at the end you asked if it showed us that we should not give up. I don’t know if I would say I felt that way. I got kind of board after I saw what he was going to make It seemed more like he was just going on and on. It got hard to see what he was changing.  Then by the next one I was able to see what he was doing soon after he stared. When I saw it was a big buck I truly did not want to watch it any more. It reminded me of the buck I lost a couple of weekends ago. Then I started to think about the paper due and went back at it. I want to get this done at least get my first draft so I can just revise. It helps me to have down all I want to say then I can add or just take a way.

10 min # 12 remix

I thought at the end he made a very good point. I found myself agreeing with him that this was a loss of a building block of knowledge. I loved the way that he put it all together with the sounds and visuals that he used.  It kept me interested throughout the whole movie. I also thought that he did a great job with the evidence to back up what he was trying to say. He had to of done a lot of research into just to find out where everything originated from.  The way that he put it everything left very little room for disagreements.  It was truly persuasive to the point that I doubt there was anyone in the class that he did not make see his point.  The way that he used music to bring his message a crossed was brilliant. It opened up the rang of the audience that he could reach. It was also a simple way of showing how things are remixed.  The fact that the visuals were well placed helped as well. Even if I found myself wondering off in my mind, the music or pictures would snap me right back into the movie. I think that he has had a lot of experience when it comes to writing and speaking to people. I hope that I can take some of his ideas and put them to use in this paper.  I think that the main point was to show us how much research goes into trying to persuade someone to see what you see.

RR # 7 Hopkins's Essay

Hopkins starts out by using her own experience to show that there is a problem with Teach for America.  She goes on to show how this problem affects today’s educators as well l the students.  She also shows   what the problems are and what kind of consciences come with these problems. She gives several ways that this problem can be fixed. She first states each plausible solution and then gives examples of how other places or using these solutions now and how they are helping. She goes over in detail what she believes needs to be done to improve TFA.  She tells how they should go about the change and gives examples on ways to change them.  She goes over some off the changes that would have to be implemented into the program to make it work. She does a good job in coming up with questions that may be asked. She gives the solution to each one of these questions after she states the questions.  She even goes on to show how the can temperately try each one of these suggestions out.  Stating how they should try them, how long they should try them, and what they need to look for in a location to try them. She gives a final conclusion by stating that this may be a whole new way to go about things, but implementing these changes is sure to make an improvement on the education for students. She also shows that if it is implemented right it will have a good impact on the teachers as well.
